Sept. 19, 2015 Recap
The Trahan Family Assoc. met
on Sept. 19, 2015 at Soop's Restaurant in Maurice for a
discussion of the Associations participation in the upcoming
GRA2015, or more specifically the Grand Réveil Acadian (The
Great Acadian Awakening) to be held across South Louisiana in

www.Louisiane-Acadie.com and go to the sub-site GRA2015

The Trahan Family Assoc. has
already contracted for a table in the Convention Center,
Cajundome 444 Cajundome Blvd., Lafayette, La. on Friday, Oct. 9,
along with several other Acadian Families where members will be
greeted and will be able to participate in many assorted
activities including exhibits, films, fascinating panel
presentations, genealogy, cuisine, French conversation tables,
mini-Tintamarre by 9 year old French Immersion Students.
This will all be held from 8 am to 4 pm.
On Saturday, Oct. 10,
different activities will be on-going all around the Lafayette
area, just too numerous enumerate here. So go to the
website and decide what event you want to enjoy.
One of the main event will
be a French Mass at 9:00 am at St. John Cathedral at 515
Cathedral St., Lafayette, La. A French Canadian Choir will
be doing the singing in French at the Mass.
Following the Mass, at 10:30 a
Cajun Tintamarre or "Loud and Proud Parade" will start on
the parking lot. This is a noise making walking parade
making its way to Downtown Lafayette (Approx. 3/4 mile) to a
warehouse turned into an excellent celebration place.
Those unable to do the walk will be able to ride in provided
coaches or autos.
At the "Warehouse" musical
performances by great Cajun musicians, and on and on with other
activities. For that reason, please go to the website and
choose your activity of choice.
