Bits
and pieces
By Loubert
Trahan
Louisiana’s Bid to host Congre Mondial in 2014 fell short of our
expectations, and we unfortunately failed to get the Award. Needless to
say, all of us, especially all those who worked many long hours
preparing briefs, tours for the Committee from Canada, and traveled a
great deal to insure all details were covered. I think we owe Ray
Trahan and his group a big round of applause for their efforts, and a
large thank you.
In March of 2010 we will once again be visited by a group from France,
lead by Marc Gerard Braud. While we have their travel agenda, we are not
yet certain as to their plans while in this area and between there
scheduled agenda.
I will
post on Trahan Web Site any additional information as it becomes
available.
Some genealogical
thoughts
The Trahan
CD has recently been updated to 2009, and includes updates from Drouin
Books of Canada, and the latest Father Hebert South West Louisiana
Records (1910-1917). The CD is available at the genealogy table, and the
cost is still $75; I might add, that the Broussard CD also updated, is
also available at the same price as the Trahan CD.
Also at the Genealogy Table are replicas of the 3 generation Trahan
Chart; these replicas sell for $10.
