President Ernest Ray Trahan

Goes to France

The President of the Trahan Family Association was fortunate to accompany his lovely wife, Brenda Comeaux Trahan, Director of the Acadian Museum in St. Martinville, La. on several world class trips.  One of these was to Nova Scotia, in June of 2003, site of the upcoming Congrè Mondial 2004 family reunions.  Ernest Ray was able to meet with the president and vice-president of the Trahan Association in Nova Scotia.  To get an idea of what outstanding young men these two are, we give you a picture of all three.

Shortly thereafter, in November 2003, Ernest Ray and Brenda were off to France for a couple celebrations there.  One was the annual France/Louisiana Banquet where they were given the Red Carpet treatment.

There then followed a "Soiree Louisianae" in Nantes, France, for our travelers
as shown:

and soon thereafter it was off to Poitier, France where they were greeted by the the city officials:

They also visited the following:

Museum of the Acadians.  This is near the place where our Acadian ancestors tried to settle in France after the deportation of 1755.

Ernest Ray and Brenda were then guests of a school in France, where the children made them feel right at home.

They then visited with one of our members, Guy and Monique Trahan.

It seems that Guy is an accomplished pionist.

Guy and his son Jean Marc (center) have a very prosperous vineyard.

but of course all work and no play would make Ernest Ray a very dull boy, so the following is the result:
